Independent Modelling Consultant
Providing project finance modelling to a range of clients, including project sponsors, lending banks, and consultancies. Services include production, development and operation of models, from project feasibility to financial close, as well as review and/or onward development of third party models and individual and group training.
Specific assignments have included inter alia;
- Modelling for UK PFI deals (two selected as preferred bidder, one recently successfully closed)
- Modelling for major transportation projects, UK and international
- Evaluation of bidders' models for major UK PFI project, and monitoring and review of preferred bidder's model
during post-bid negotiations
- Production, development and review of models for renewable energy investors
- Modelling of several telecom projects
- Modelling of several water projects
- Production of generic BOT power models for two UK contractors
- Onward development of legacy power project model to support renegotiation of power price
- Modelling for UK gas-fired power station
- Modelling gas field project
- Training for leading project finance banks in the City of London
- In house training for project finance lending and advisory banks and consultancy firms in UK, Europe, Russia,
Canada, South Africa and India
- Presentation of public course "Advanced Financial Modelling for Project Finance", in London, Vienna, Sydney,
Singapore, Mumbai and New York
- Author "Financial Modelling for Project Finance" for Euromoney Publications (currently preparing 2nd
edition)

Working in the very active and successful project advisory team, primarily modelling and training new team members in modelling methods. During this time modelling work included inter alia;
- Two Turkish BOT power stations
- Project financed telecom satellite
- Water Projects
1981-1988 Morgan Grenfell & Co. Ltd London UK
Initially working with the dedicated financial modelling team, then in the energy and project finance teams at this highly respected UK merchant bank. Early work was on mainframe computers, using and writing an in-house modelling language developed in FORTRAN. With the introduction of PCs, involved in the development from first principals of project finance modelling using spreadsheet software.
Modelling work whilst at Morgan Grenfell included inter alia;
- UK & European infrastructure projects
- Turkish BOT power plant
- North Sea and Caribbean oil and gas field developments and valuations
